Objective:
The main objective of YAMH is to equip teachers and youth counsellors to promote and protect the mental health of adolescents within the school environment. This is achieved through:
- Identifying and interpreting key mental health issues and early signs of disorders
- Combating stigma through information and encouragement to seek help
- Strengthening young people’s resilience by developing social, interpersonal, cognitive and emotional skills
Target Groups of the Project:
- Teachers and youth workers
- Indirectly, pupils/adolescents in schools
Outcomes:
The main deliverables of the project include:
- An educational programme to promote and protect young people’s mental health in schools, based on a life skills approach.
- An online open educational resources (OER) platform with materials and tools that professionals can use.
- Guidelines and recommendations for teachers and schools on promoting pupils’ mental wellbeing
