Objective:
The main objective of YAMH is to equip teachers and youth counsellors to promote and protect the mental health of adolescents within the school environment. This is achieved through:

  • Identifying and interpreting key mental health issues and early signs of disorders
  • Combating stigma through information and encouragement to seek help
  • Strengthening young people’s resilience by developing social, interpersonal, cognitive and emotional skills 

Target Groups of the Project:

  • Teachers and youth workers
  • Indirectly, pupils/adolescents in schools 

 

Outcomes:
The main deliverables of the project include:

  1. An educational programme to promote and protect young people’s mental health in schools, based on a life skills approach.
  2. An online open educational resources (OER) platform with materials and tools that professionals can use.
  3. Guidelines and recommendations for teachers and schools on promoting pupils’ mental wellbeing
